Total Film Unleashes The Beast Godzilla 2014
From Total Film via CBN
Total Film's massive move preview issue features an article about Godzilla (among other films hitting the big screen) below are some of the details.
Spoiler warning.
Details in the article include that half way through the movie, Godzilla makes his way from Japan to Hawaii to San Francisco.
It's stated that the Hawaii sequence is when the audience will get their first frontal look at Godzilla and features 300 extras all said to be wounded.
Total Film also gives us a nice run-down of the plot:
There is a pre-title sequence set in 1954, and then the movie jumps to 1999 where disaster occurs at a Japanese nuclear power plant which is home to Joe Brody (Bryan Cranston ) and Sandra Brody (Juliette Binoche ). What exactly caused the disaster remains a mystery, and then the movie jumps forward 15 more years ahead with Joe Brody still searching for answers leading him to meeting scientists Watanabe and Sally Hawkins as well as military commander David Straitharn. It's said that Ford Brody (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) now becomes the principal player in the movie (presently in Hawaii), who is Joe Brody's estranged son and wants to get back to his kid and wife (Elizabeth Olsen) - both who are in San Francisco when Godzilla arrives in Hawaii.
It's also said that Godzilla stands at 350 ft. tall because "it's as big as you can go while still allowing him to stand behind skyscrapers."
And regarding if Godzilla is a good guy or bad guy?
"Is Godzilla good or bad?" Edwards questioned with a smile. "Is a hurricane good or bad? Godzilla is a force of nature and anything else in the movie represents our abuse of nature. Godzilla comes in to put things right."
Edwards also let it be known that Toho saw the film.
"They saw it yesterday and I got an e-mail saying they thought it was fantastic!" he said. "So that was a relief."
